Assumptions
Every number the result uses that you didn't enter. Change any of them to match your case.
- Assumptionmonths
Tiers reset every month, so a move spread over several months is priced at lower tiers more than once. One month is the simplest plan: the whole data set leaves in a single billing month.

What you enter and the assumptions you change are kept in this page's link, after the #.
Published exit policies
Some providers waive egress for customers who leave them. The terms are theirs and need their approval, so the costs above are list prices; read each policy at its source.
- Amazon Web Services: AWS waives data transfer out to the internet for customers moving their data off AWS. You ask AWS Support first; once approved, AWS gives credits for the data migrated.
- Microsoft Azure: Azure offers free egress to customers leaving Azure for another cloud provider or an on-premises data center. Above the 100 GB a month that are free anyway, you claim a credit by the steps on the pricing page.
- Google Cloud: Google Cloud offers free data transfer when you migrate all workloads and data of a service to another provider or on premises and end your use of it: an Exit Notice first, then set periods to start and to complete the migration.
- DigitalOcean: No exit policy of DigitalOcean is recorded in the data.

The link holds the settings after #, which browsers never send to a server.
What it does
It prices data sent from a cloud server to the internet at four providers' public list prices: what it costs every month, and what a one-time move of your data set out of the provider adds on top. Use it to compare egress before you choose a provider, or to put a number on leaving one.
How it works
- Each provider's price list has a free allowance a month and price tiers per GB or GiB. Your monthly transfer is converted exactly to that unit (1 TB = 1,000 GB = 931.32 GiB), the allowance is taken off first, and each unit is priced by the tier it falls in.
- Tier bounds are counted the way the provider states them: AWS and Azure count from the end of the free allowance, Google Cloud from the first GiB sent. DigitalOcean gives an allowance for each Droplet, so the number of servers matters there only.
- One-time exit: the data set is added to the monthly traffic, spread over the months under Assumptions (one by default). The exit cost is what those months cost more than your usual months, so it is priced at the tiers your regular traffic leaves.
- Past a provider's last published tier there is no list price, so the table says to ask the provider instead of guessing one.
- Exit programmes are linked, not applied: each provider decides on them case by case.
The price lists
Every tier of every price list the calculator uses, as the provider states it, with the free allowance counted first.

Example
5 TB sent to the internet a month, a 50 TB data set moved out in one month, one server, at the shipped price lists:
5 TB a month · 50 TB exit · 1 server
- Amazon Web Services: Every month
- $441/month
- Amazon Web Services: One-time exit
- $4,221.2
- Microsoft Azure: Every month
- $426.3/month
- Microsoft Azure: One-time exit
- $4,106.7
- Google Cloud: Every month
- $378.81/month
- Google Cloud: One-time exit
- $3,138.47
- DigitalOcean: Every month
- $36.57/month
- DigitalOcean: One-time exit
- $465.66
Limits
- List prices for one region and network option of each provider, in USD, before tax, commitments, private pricing or credits. Other regions and Google Cloud's Premium Tier cost differently.
- Internet egress only: traffic between zones, regions or to a CDN, NAT gateway and load balancer charges are not included.
- The exit policies are summaries. Their terms (what qualifies, notice periods, what happens to your account) are only on the providers' pages, and this is not legal advice.
- A price older than 90 days carries the Stale mark until it is read again from its source.
